Overview

Get Ready for the Early Exam Season

Taught by teachers with decades of experience, nothing sets students up for success like our holiday program. Our results over the years show the strong correlation between doing well in the program, and performing well in the exam season.

Class offered in this holiday program include:

  • A. Scholarship Exam Training for Y3s, 4s, 5s, 6s and 7s
    • Y7s are aiming to perform well in exams such as Yarra Valley Grammar, Ballarat Clarendon, Firbank, Korowa, Sacre Coeur, Strathcona and Mentone Girls etc. Many boys will also be aiming to do well on the October Scotch College exam.
    • Y6s are aiming to perform well in the coming Selective Program assessments offered by many government schools.
    • Y5s are aiming to perform well in the early exam season, especially in the coming Haileybury and Scotch College scholarship exams in term 3.
    • Y4s are aiming to perform well in exams such as Yarra Valley Grammar, Tintern, Strathcona, Firbank and Sacre Coeur.
    • Y3s are also aiming for the early exam season, especially in the coming Haileybury exam.
    • There will be two mock exams for all year levels.
  • B. Scholarship Writing Workshops for Y2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 7s and 8s
    • Prepares students for Selective, ACER, Edutest, AAST and HAST style writing topics
    • Will cover actual writing topics from past exam papers
    • Students are expected to hand in writing for every topic, to be marked up and commented on by the teacher.
    • Y2s will be introduced to writing.
  • C. Maths Olympiad Workshops for Y1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 6s
    • These workshops are a great way to explore your mathematical talents as well as to foster problems solving and lateral thinking skills.
    • Classes will run online on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
    • Scoring well in the SEAMO is a great way to add to your portfolio.

Scholarship and Selective Entry Program

Systematic programs in English, Mathematics, Essay Writing, Abstract Reasoning and Science for Years 1 through to 9. Empowering students and building confidence through academic development. Includes practice exams specifically designed to familiarise students with exam formats for Edutest, ACER, AAST, HAST and Selective Entry exams.
Maths Olympiad

Preparing students for Maths Olympiad competitions and more complex Maths challenges.
My son has been in New Century for almost 5 years. Their teachers with professional teaching skills really help him to gain entrance to one of the Melbourne’s best school. As well as the language program in Chinese has enhanced his interest and ability to better engage with his culture identity.
